Soup Kitchen

"Then the righteous will answer Him, 'Lord, when did we see you hungry, and feed you, or thirsty, and give you something to drink?  And when did we see you a stranger, and invite you in, or naked, and clothe you?  When did we see you sick, or in prison, and come to you?'  The King will answer and say to them, 'Truly I say to you, to the extent that you did it to one of these brothers of mine, even the least of them, you did it to Me.'"          Matthew 25:38-40

Dozens of our brothers and sisters, young and old, visit the Salvation Army's Soup Kitchen at the rear of 365 West Broad Street in Hazleton, every lunchtime.  There, they receive a nutritious, hot meal, lovingly prepared and served by volunteers from our Parish, together with many others.  Likely, its the only food they'll eat all day.

The need is great.  And so is the satisfaction of serving.  In feeding others we are fed.  Do you like to cook? bake? serve?  Your help in this vital ministry is greatly appreciated.  For more information and to volunteer, please call our office (570)788-1997 or email us.  We are delighted to welcome you!
